To begin ...

As it says, to begin with, a bit about me ...

Firstly - I am a seasonal exerciser. I love exercising in Spring and Summer, but in Autumn and Winter all I want is my blanket, a book and good food!

Secondly - I am a trainee teacher at the moment. I am nearly 3/4 of the way through my training. It takes up a hell of a lot of my time ... I cannot even go to the toilet without thinking what which class is going to be doing!

Thirdly - I am a Guide Leader. I love it at times ... at times it is infuriating. Much of the reason I am keeping this blog is for my Queens Guide Award which is the highest award in Guiding. I am in the process of completing this and my blog, my training and my successes will contribute to this!

Sooo less about me me and more about fitness me.

My main goal at the moment is to get back to the fitness I was at this time last year. Where I felt fit, strong and healthy! I also wouldnt mind losing a few pounds in the process. I went down to a toned size 8 in my heyday of exercising properly ... I am now a flabby 10-12.

so I am back with renewed enthusiam and motivation.

My plan:

- train, exercise, eat well and drink water.
- I want to run, cycle, lift weights and do yoga. Without feeling like I want to dieeee.
- I may well celebrate my amazingness with a big event - watch this space ...

This week I am going to take it easy ... I have had a few issues this week with a lot of pain in my hips, back, knees, ankles, shoulders and hands. I am on some STRONG medication - which is sending me doolally! So i am going to go easy with some lovely Yin yoga on Saturday, some gentle bike riding and maybe even a spot of swimming.

I will start back gently and build up over time - every fall, every success, every cheat meal, every weight lifted and how i feel, will be recorded right here.

It will all be done healthily, so I can set a good example for my Guides and Senior Section and all young women and girls.

Ps, I am also doing a study into how the fitness industry affects young people, so I will also post some of that here too!

Thanks :)
